Storm
August was heralded in by one of the best and yet strangest storms I’ve seen for a very long time.
It was about 2 am on Wednesday morning; the clammy weather was striving to make everyone’s night as uncomfortable as possible when I became aware of the rolling thunder that had woken me. I went through to the living room to check on ‘Finn the Dog’, who was fine and sitting on the sofa watching the weather. The living room was flooded with the white light of lightning.
You would have expected white horses to be covering the sea and the trees to be swaying in the wind, but nothing stirred. The stillness was eerie as the thunder rolled and the lightning lit up the water. I opened the curtains and windows and we sat and watched the free show. Nothing like August in Scotland.
