Autumn Equinox 22nd September 2016
Last week I was sailing, feeling the sun on my face and watching the dark patches of sprats as they maintained their position in the food cycle. Gannets diving; mackerel running and the sea was warm enough for a paddle. It was glorious.
In the space of a few days, the sailing season came to a close. The wind increased, leaves littered the roads, and dark evenings declared they would like the log burner turned on, please.
The Autumn Equinox arrived, the night as long as the day called an end to the summer and turning our thoughts to clocks being changed and warm socks being found.
Although, we could mourn the loss of summer days we know they will come again. Iām grateful I live in such a wonderful place, ever-changing and yet ever constant. We live this pattern and celebrate the cosy evenings knowing this gives us a chance have a rest and get ready to set sail again in the spring.
